Well this is the first post to the Sujiivana Blog, and I figure I will start it by introducing myself. I am KNE Palmer, before all the question posts start about the name it is pronounced Kenny. I have been involved in the Cosmetology and Beauty industry for over 25 years in many different ways. I hold two licenses in the US, one as a stylist and the other as an Instructor of Cosmetology. I have been involved in education within this industry most of my career as a product education, color trainer, and now a licensed instructor.
My official start in this, was apprenticing in a salon is Los Angels, that was owned by a Pilipino friend of mine. I returned to my home state of Arizona, and attended DeVoe’s College of Beauty for my formal training. I had a wonderful opportunity right after graduating from DeVoe’s; I got to move to Belgium in the heart of Europe. I ended up opening two salons there with a business partner. That is also where I caught the teaching bug, I was able to get involved with Schwarzkopf training hair color and working as a platform artist.
Due to Family issues, I ended up returning to Arizona in the US five years later. While there I trained with a number of hair care lines, to include: Sebastian, Redken, Aveda, Soft sheen, Roux, Paul Mitchell, Image and CHI. I have always tried to stay on the cutting edge of products for the industry. I was one of the first hairstylists in Arizona to adopt a no ammonia color line for all my clients.
